About the Legends 3D Founder: David Eugene Rozier Jr. (aka David Bear or Sonario648) has overcome countless challenges since his 15.5 week premature birth on 17 June 1998. He weighed only 744 grams (1.5 pounds), was diagnosed with 75% of his brain irreversibly damaged and has survived multiple surgeries: heart/lung, brain shunt (5), eye (4) and double hernia. Despite being diagnosed with cerebral palsy and being legally blind, Bear enjoyed a relatively normal sheltered life, i.e. home schooled and socialized with his Buena Park (California) Library friends. In 2014, Mr. Rozier Jr. discovered the world of 3D Animation via Valve's Source Filmmaker, and since then, he’s gained interest in being a 3D animator with SFM, learning every nook and cranny of the software in the process in order to make his animations the best that they can be. Come 2019, Mr. Rozier Jr. discovered Blender through a Youtuber named Private Jack (PTEJack), who created a video for turning image sequences into video using Blender, and from there, the floodgates were opened once Mr. Rozier Jr. poked around random places, and discovered that Blender’s hotkeys could be changed to exactly 1:1 match Source Filmmaker’s hotkeys. After a few more years of using SFM while learning Blender on the side, Mr. Rozier Jr. discovered that Blender does a lot of things BETTER than SFM, and that the default Blender hotkeys are controversial, causing his focus to shift away from animating for the time being, so that he can put all of his focus on his personal mission of making Blender more like home. David Bear was eagerly anticipating attending his first Blender conference to present his ideas. Unfortunately, he started experiencing seizures in September 2022, one month before the scheduled conference. In the 20-months since, he has been hospitalized 19-times in Ghana (focal epilepsy with autonomic seizures) for a total of over 150-days. However, none of this has stopped him from doing what he wants to do, which is make Blender easier to use, especially for people with challenges. However, you would not know that by looking at me, David Bear continues to defy all odds, and is living a mostly normal life like any ordinary person.David Bear has flown across the USA four times, two of them by himself, and he now lives overseas in Ghana, West Africa, and has his own company, that company being Legends 3D.
